Diageo PLC24 January 2006 Diageo plc announces that it has today purchased through CSFB Europe Ltd 800,000ordinary shares at a price of 828.01 pence per share. The purchased shares willall be held as treasury shares. Following the above purchase, Diageo plc holds 181,809,500 ordinary shares astreasury shares. The total number of ordinary shares in issue (excluding sharesheld as treasury shares) is 2,868,853,240.
