Character Group PLC27 December 2007 27 December 2007 The Character Group plc (the 'Group' or 'Company') Transaction in Own Shares As part of the Group's stated objective to enhance shareholder value, theCompany advises that it has on 24 December 2007 purchased in the market throughCharles Stanley Securities 21,045 ordinary shares in the Company at a price of88 pence per share. This represents approximately 0.04% of the issued sharecapital of the Company (excluding shares held in treasury). These shares will beheld in treasury. Following these transactions, the Company has 43,762,410 ordinary shares inissue (excluding 1,729,527 ordinary shares in the Company held in Treasury). The Directors will continue to monitor the position and will, if appropriate,make further purchases of the Company's own shares.
