IMI PLC: Transaction in own shares

IMI PLC announces that on 17 May 2013 it purchased through J.P. Morgan Securities plc 88,000 ordinary shares of 25 pence each, at an average price of 1318.9206 pence per share. The highest and lowest prices paid for these shares were 1330 pence per share and 1312.5 pence per share respectively. The purchased shares will all be held as treasury shares.

Following the above purchase, IMI PLC holds 21,929,945 ordinary shares as treasury shares. The total number of ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares) is 318,760,923.
