Purchase of Own Preference Shares

Premier Farnell plc (the "Company") announces that on 19 March 2008 it purchased in the market 1,000,000 of its cumulative convertible redeemable preference shares of ‚£1 each at a price of ‚£12.75 per share. The number of cumulative convertible redeemable preference shares in issue following this purchase is 4,773,721. The shares acquired by the Company will be cancelled.
