Transaction in own shares

On 13 June 2011, the Company purchased 750,000 of its own ordinary shares of no par value at prices between 312.5 pence per share and 317.7 pence per share, all of which ordinary shares are to be cancelled. This represents approximately 0.051 per cent of the Company's issued ordinary share capital.

Following the repurchase and cancellation, 1,463,953,684 ordinary shares of no par value will be in issue. There are no ordinary shares held in treasury.
