Transaction in own shares

Thomas Cook Group plc announces that on 2 June 2008 it purchased 350,000 ordinary shares for cancellation. The highest price paid per share was 248.25 pence (excluding expenses) and the lowest price paid was 240.00 pence (excluding expenses).

As a result of these purchases Thomas Cook Group plc will purchase 391,777 ordinary shares in aggregate from Arcandor AG and KarstadtQuelle Freizeit GmbH at a price of 243.2143 pence per share, which is the average price paid for the shares reported above.
