Imperial Tobacco has today, 12 December 2013, purchased 135,000 ordinary shares at an average price of 2230.24 pence per ordinary share. The highest price paid was 2241 pence per ordinary share and the lowest 2223 pence per ordinary share.

The purchased shares will all be held in treasury.

Following the above purchase, Imperial Tobacco holds 103,271,532 ordinary shares in treasury.

The total number of ordinary shares in issue, excluding ordinary shares held in treasury, is 964,671,349.
