The highest price paid was 1297 pence per share and the lowestprice paid was 1292 pence per share.Following the above purchase the total number of ordinary shares in issue(excluding shares held in treasury) is 297,944,681. Of these 6,550,856 sharesare held by Employee Trusts and are discounted for earnings per sharecalculation purposes.
