Character Group PLC28 January 2008 28 January 2008 The Character Group plc (the 'Group' or 'Company') Transaction in Own Shares The directors of The Character Group plc announce that, as part of the Group'spolicy of buying back Group shares, a further 101,264 shares have been purchasedon 25 January 2008 in the market through Charles Stanley Securities for treasury at a price of 87.41 pence per share. This represents approximately 0.24% ofthe issued share capital of the Company (excluding shares held in treasury). Following these transactions, the Company has 42,864,724 ordinary shares inissue (excluding 2,627,213 ordinary shares in the Company held in treasury).
