Chemring Group PLC (the "Company") - Transaction in Own Shares

The Company announces that on 11 August 2011 it purchased a total of 50,000 ordinary shares of 1p each on the London Stock Exchange via Investec Bank plc. The highest price paid was 496.0 pence per share and the lowest price paid was 485.0 pence per share.

The purchased shares will be held as treasury shares. Following the above purchase, the Company holds a total of 1,343,145 ordinary shares as treasury shares and has a total of 194,023,413 ordinary shares in issue (excluding shares held in Treasury).
