BP p.l.c. announces that on 11 August 2008, it purchased for cancellation 1,970,000 ordinary shares at prices between 517.75 pence and 529.25 pence per share.
Following the above transaction BP p.l.c. holds 1,902,866,297 ordinary shares in Treasury, and has 18,764,648,436 ordinary shares in issue (excluding Treasury shares).
