Burberry Group PLC04 August 2005 BURBERRY GROUP PLC: Transaction in Own Shares Burberry Group plc ("the Company") announces that it has today purchased 572,223of its ordinary shares of 0.05p each ("Shares") for cancellation. Of theseShares, 200,000 were purchased on-market from Morgan Stanley at a price of421.2250 pence per Share and 372,223 were purchased off-market directly from GUSHoldings Limited also at a price of 421.2250 pence per share in accordance withthe Agreement dated 14 July 2005 between the Company and GUS plc approved by theCompany's shareholders on 14 July 2005.
