Thomas Cook Group plc announces that on 01 July 2008 it purchased 2,875,000 ordinary shares for cancellation. The highest price paid per share was 231.50 pence (excluding expenses) and the lowest price paid was 229.00 pence (excluding expenses).

As a result of these purchases Thomas Cook Group plc will purchase 3,218,167 ordinary shares in aggregate from Arcandor AG and KarstadtQuelle Freizeit GmbH at a price of 229.0073 pence per share, which is the average price paid for the shares reported above.
