Kazakhmys PLC announces that on 19 October 2011 it purchased from Citigroup Global Markets U.K. Equity Limited 115,000 ordinary shares at an average price of 877.9022 pence per share. The highest price paid was 897.5 pence per share and the lowest price paid was 864.0 pence per share. The purchased shares will be held as treasury shares. Following the above purchase, Kazakhmys PLC holds 1,206,976 ordinary shares in treasury and has 534,033,362 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
