AMEC PLC18 March 2008 AMEC plc Transaction in Own Shares AMEC plc announces that on 17 March 2008, it purchased 270,000 of its ordinaryshares of 50p each at 701.819 pence per share through Dresdner Kleinwort. All ofthese shares will be held as Treasury shares. This purchase equates toapproximately 0.08 per cent of AMEC's current issued share capital excludingTreasury shares prior to this purchase. AMEC's total issued share capital is 337,850,599 shares.
