Thomas Cook Group plc announces that on 19 September 2008 it purchased 521,064 ordinary shares for cancellation. The highest price paid per share was 259.00 pence (excluding expenses) and the lowest price paid was 244.875 pence (excluding expenses).

As a result of these purchases Thomas Cook Group plc will purchase 583,259 ordinary shares in aggregate from Arcandor AG and KarstadtQuelle Freizeit GmbH at a price of 251.8114 pence per share, which is the average price paid for the shares reported above.
