Alternative Networks Plc ("Alternative Networks" or the "Company")

Purchase of Own Shares

Pursuant to the general authority given to the Company by shareholders at a general meeting on 24 July 2008 and as announced on 18 August 2008, the Company announces that it purchased 31,300 of its own ordinary shares for cancellation on 27 August 2008 at a price of 135 pence per share.

This represents 0.065 per cent. of the issued share capital of the Company.
