Transaction in own shares

EPE Special Opportunities plc (the "Company") announces that, on 8 January 2013, it purchased 20,000 shares of 5 pence each ("Ordinary Shares") at a price of 55 pence per share and that, on 9 January 2013, it purchased 10,000 shares of 5 pence each ("Ordinary Shares") at a price of 55 pence per share.

The number of Ordinary Shares in issue following the above and the figure to be used as the denominator for calculations of interests in the Company's voting rights is 29,169,476 Ordinary Shares.
