Transactions in own shares

Pursuant to the authority given by shareholders at the 2015 Annual General Meeting, Aberdeen announces that it has purchased ordinary shares of 10 pence each as follows:

Date of purchase: 28 July 2015

Number of ordinary shares purchased: 1,758,000

The highest price paid was 369.20 pence per share and the lowest price paid was 358.0 pence per share. The purchase represented an average price of 364.80 pence per share. The purchased shares will be cancelled.

Following this purchase and the subsequent cancellation of these shares, Aberdeen's issued ordinary share capital will be 1,325,224,657.

The above figure of 1,325,224,657 ordinary shares may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, Aberdeen under the Financial Conduct Authority's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
