Kazakhmys PLC announces that on 23 April 2012 it purchased from J.P. Morgan Securities Ltd. 171,177 ordinary shares at an average price of 855.8083 pence per share. The highest price paid was 876.0 pence per share and the lowest price paid was 844.0 pence per share. The purchased shares will be held as treasury shares. Following the above purchase, Kazakhmys PLC holds 10,210,430 ordinary shares in treasury and has 525,207,531 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
