HALFORDS GROUP PLC: PURCHASE OF OWN SHARES

Halfords Group PLC announces that on 29 June 2011 it purchased, through Investec Bank PLC, 100,000 of its ordinary shares for transfer into treasury at a price of 379.246 pence per share. The highest price paid was 384.5 pence per share and the lowest price paid was 377.50 pence per share.

The shares held in treasury will be used to meet options under the Company's share options schemes between 2011 and 2014. Following the above purchase, the Company now holds 500,000 shares in treasury and has bought back 6,816,296 shares for cancellation, since 7 April 2011 when the buy back programme commenced.
