Character Group PLC31 December 2007 31 December 2007 The Character Group plc (the 'Group' or 'Company') Transaction in Own Shares As part of the Group's stated objective to enhance shareholder value, theCompany advises that it has today purchased in the market through CharlesStanley Securities 179,332 ordinary shares in the company at a price of 91.997pence per share. This represents approximately 0.41% of the issued sharecapital of the Company (excluding shares held in treasury). These shares will beheld in treasury. Following these transactions, the Company has 43,544,578 ordinary shares inissue (excluding 1,947,359 ordinary shares in the Company held in Treasury). The Directors will continue to monitor the position and will, if appropriate,make further purchases of the Company's own shares.
