Purchase of own securities

Imperial Tobacco has today, 23 July 2013, purchased 75,000 ordinary shares at an average price of 2220.07 pence per ordinary share. The highest price paid was 2225.53 pence per share and the lowest 2210 pence per share.

The purchased shares will all be held as treasury shares. Following the above purchase, Imperial Tobacco holds 97,238,532 ordinary shares as treasury shares. The total number of ordinary shares in issue (excluding shares held as treasury shares) is 970,704,349.
