Transaction in own shares

Man Group plc announces that on 9 January 2012 it purchased for cancellation 400,000 of its ordinary shares at an average price of 108.6694 pence per ordinary share.

Following this cancellation the total number of ordinary shares in issue will be 1,820,989,840. The Company does not hold any shares in Treasury.
