Carpetright PLC30 January 2007 Third Quarter Trading Statement - Financial Year Ending 28 April 2007 Carpetright plc, Europe's leading specialist carpet and floor coveringsretailer, today announces its third quarter trading update, which covers the 13weeks from 29 October 2006 to 27 January 2007. The UK and Republic of Ireland business has recorded a total sales increase of7.0% with like for like sales up by 0.1%. The Rest of Europe has recorded atotal sales increase of 12.5% with like for like sales up by 4.9%. Within the UK and Republic of Ireland we have opened 13 stores, including threeconcessions, and closed four taking the total number of stores to 503 including65 concessions. Additionally, we have opened two stores in The Netherlands andtwo stores in Poland taking the Group total to 608 stores. Lord Harris of Peckham, Chairman and Chief Executive, said: "We are satisfied with our overall performance. The Group has continued to growsales in all of its businesses with new space contributing strongly. We areespecially pleased with the performance of our concessions stores." "Carpetright opened its 600th store in the period and we have plans to openanother 20 stores before the year end."
