Bloomsbury Publishing PLC15 January 2008 Trading Statement Bloomsbury Publishing announces that 2007 trading was better than expected andthat its results will be ahead of current market consensus. Sales were strong in the UK and Germany and significant progress was made in ourspecialist publishing. We had a good finish to the year from a number of titlesincluding the Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns, Cranford, The RiverCottage Fish Book and continued re-orders from the Harry Potter series. A numberof significant rights deals were also concluded in the year. 2008 is off to a good start with the recommendation of A Thousand Splendid Sunson the Richard and Judy TV programme on 9th January and is now at the top ofmost UK retailers' bestseller lists.
