Cineworld Group plc18 July 2007 CINEWORLD GROUP PLC 18th July 2007 Strictly embargoed until 7.00am Pre-Close Period Trading Update Cineworld Group plc ("Cineworld" or the "Group") will publish its interimresults for the six months ended 28th June 2007 on 20th September 2007. Priorto entering its close period, Cineworld issues the following update. The UK Cinema industry has enjoyed a strong first half of 2007 with UK industrybox office up 9.5% on the same period last year according to informationcollated by Nielsen EDI. This reflects a robust film release schedule in thefirst six months of this year, set against a weaker comparable period in 2006which included the Football World Cup. Films such as Pirates of the Caribbean:AtWorld's End, Spiderman 3, Mr Bean's Holiday and Hot Fuzz, have all performedwell at the box office. Against this healthy industry backdrop, Cineworld increased its market share ofbox office to 23.9% from 23.4% in the six months to end June 2007. The results for the first six months of the year will also include an eight weekcontribution from our new cinema in Didcot which opened in May 2007, increasingthe total size of the Cineworld portfolio to 73 sites and 758 screens. Overall the outlook for the full year is very encouraging, although thecomparables will become more challenging in the second half of the year due tothe strong closing months of 2006, which featured the year's biggestblockbuster, Casino Royale.
