Trading update
Alternative Networks plc, (AN.L, 'the Company' or 'the Group') the UK business communications service provider, announces that trading and cash generation for the year ended 30 September 2008 have remained robust, in line with management expectations.
The Group ended the year with a strong performance in Q4, seeing good momentum in terms of new business signed and significant progress made across most metrics, particularly in Mobile and Fixed Networks Services, even when measured against the strong start to the financial year. The combination of the Q4 strength, a good pipeline and the bolstering of the sales team with some new key hires gives the Board confidence in its growth prospects as the Group moves into the next financial year.
Furthermore, the Company announces that it has been able to accelerate the final elements of the integration of Echo, the IP PBX systems integrator which the Company acquired in August 2007. Following the resignation of Richard Bampfylde, founder and managing director of Echo, and executive of Alternative Networks, in August 2008, the Group is pleased to announce that Richard will be taking up a role as a non-executive director of Echo from September 2008, thereby ensuring that his knowledge and experience remains within the Group.
