Murgitroyd Group PLC("Murgitroyd" or "the Group") Period-end Trading update
Murgitroyd, the European Patent and Trade Mark Attorney practice, is pleased to announce a trading update for the financial year ended 31 May 2010.
The Board confirms that both activity levels and business performance for the second half of the financial year have been satisfactory. As a result, the underlying trading result for the full year is anticipated to be in line with market expectations and the Board remains confident about the future prospects of the Group.
The Group's new business development office in Japan opened on 1 June 2010, based in Tokyo. This is the second new office opening in 2010, following the previously announced opening of a Finland Office in Helsinki earlier in the year. The Group is actively recruiting professional and paralegal staff across the Group. Reflecting the Group's commitment to organic growth, as well as the strategic importance of its business development activities, Executive Chairman Ian Murgitroyd has taken on the role of Global Head of Business Development, based in Murgitroyd's Global Business Development Centre in Raleigh, North Carolina. Total staff numbers in Raleigh have increased to seven during 2010, and are anticipated to increase further. The Group's Raleigh-based staff will relocate to larger, permanent office accommodation in the Autumn.
In addition, the Group's Deputy Chairman, David Castle, has indicated his intention to retire from the Group at this year's AGM.
The Group expects to release its results for the financial year ended 31 May 2010 on or around 6 September 2010.
