NXT PLC28 December 2005 Toyota announces first vehicle fitted with NXT-equipped roof liner loudspeakersystem NXT today confirms that the new FJ Cruiser Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) fromToyota, one of the world's largest auto manufacturers, will feature anNXT-equipped roof liner sound system when it goes on sale in North America fromMarch 2006. The first mass production vehicle in the world to incorporate NXT SurfaceSoundtechnology in the roof liner, the FJ Cruiser is the latest in a long line of4x4's from Toyota and is designed to appeal to both serious off-roaders andthose looking for a stylish SUV that combines practical features and state ofthe art comfort. Powered by a 4.0L V6 24-valve engine, the FJ Cruiser is available with a choiceof six-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission and is equally at homeon the highways as it is on mountain treks or jungle safaris. The FJ Cruiser's cabin combines luxury features including air conditioning andmulti-adjust high-comfort seats with practical essentials such as easy to adjustcontrols and wipe-clean seats and trim panels. The robust interior is completedwith the addition of the NXT-based roof liner loudspeaker system whichcomplements the FJ Cruiser's conventional speakers to create a broad,omni-directional dispersion of high quality sound that fills the cabin andenvelopes passengers. The vehicle is available with a choice of three audio systems, with an AM/FM/CDsystem with six speakers fitted as standard (including NXT-based roof liner).The other options include an eight speaker system with six-disc CD changer and anine speaker system, complete with subwoofer.
