TOTAL VOTING RIGHTS
The Company's issued ordinary share capital currently comprises 5,516,141,360 ordinary shares of 10p each including 239,434,888 shares that are being held in treasury. Therefore, in accordance with Rule 5.6.1R of the Disclosure and Transparency Rules, the total number of voting rights for the purposes of calculating disclosable interests in the Company's ordinary share capital is 5,276,706,472.
African life subsidiaries of the Company hold a total of 240,027,243 ordinary shares in the Company in their policyholders' funds and these shares cannot be voted while they are held by subsidiaries of Old Mutual plc because of applicable provisions of UK company law. However, for the purposes of disclosure in accordance with Rule 5.6.1R of the Disclosure and Transparency Rules, the shares held by African life subsidiaries of the Company are included in the total voting rights for the purposes of calculating disclosable interests.
