In accordance with Disclosure and Transparency Rule 5.6.1, Friends Provident plc (the "Company") advises that, as of the close of business on 30 November 2007, the Company's issued share capital now consists of 2,171,809,932 ordinary shares of 10p each, of which 18,174,583 are treasury shares. Accordingly, the Company's capital now consists of 2,153,635,349 ordinary shares with voting rights.
The above figure of 2,153,635,349 may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the Company under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
