Vedanta Resources PLC31 October 2007 Vedanta Resources plc Total Voting Rights In accordance with the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rule 5.6.1 VedantaResources Plc ('Vedanta') today notifies the market of the following: As at the date of this announcement Vedanta's issued share capital includes287,958,376 ordinary shares of US 10 cents each, of which 287,904,320 carryvoting rights in relation to all circumstances at general meetings of Vedanta.The remaining 54,056 ordinary shares of US 10 Cents each were issued on theconversion of certain convertible bonds issued by one of Vedanta's subsidiaries.These 54,056 ordinary shares are held through a global depositary receipt and,as a result, carry no voting rights. There are no shares held in treasury byVedanta. The increase in voting shares results from the issue of 123,500 ordinary sharesof US 10 cents each after LTIP grants options were exercised by employee andincrease in 54,056 non voting shares after conversion of certain convertibleBond. The above figure of 287,904,320 may be used by shareholders (and others withnotification obligations) as the denominator for the calculations by which theywill determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change intheir interest in, Vedanta under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
