Rio Tinto PLC30 April 2007 RIO TINTO PLC ("THE COMPANY") TOTAL VOTING RIGHTS In conformity with the Transparency Directive's transitional provision 6, RioTinto plc is required to notify the market of the following: The Company's issued capital, including treasury shares, consists of1,071,755,144 Ordinary shares of 10p each. Of these, 65,745,279 shares wereheld in treasury at the date of this announcement. Therefore, the total number of voting rights in the Company is 1,004,009,865.
