Total Voting Rights
Legal & General Group Plc ("Group") announces, in compliance with its obligations under Rules 5.6.1 and 5.6.2 of the Disclosure and Transparency Rules, that:
As at 30 May 2008:
Group's capital consists of 6,036,724,122 Ordinary shares of 2.5p each, with voting rights.
Group does not hold any shares in Treasury.
The total number of voting rights in Group is 6,036,724,122
The above figure of 6,036,724,122 may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they can determine whether they are required to notify their interest in, or a change of their interest in, Group under the FSA Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
Prior to the date of this announcement, 7,698,612 shares were purchased by the Group for cancellation and were awaiting settlement. Upon settlement, these shares will cease to have voting rights.
