Cable and Wireless plc announces terms of US$500 million 7.75% Senior Secured Notes due 2017

Cable and Wireless plc announces that it has completed the pricing of US$500,000,000 aggregate principal amount of notes due 2017. The notes will bear interest at an annual rate of 7.75%. The notes will be issued by Sable International Finance Limited and will be unconditionally and irrevocably guaranteed by Cable and Wireless plc and certain of its non-operating subsidiaries and, following the effective time of the scheme of arrangement, by Cable & Wireless Communications Plc. The notes are being offered and sold to institutional investors in the US pursuant to Rule 144A and outside the US pursuant to Regulation S under the US Securities Act of 1933, as amended. The net proceeds from the sale of the notes will be used to repay drawings under an existing credit facility, to fund working capital needs and for general corporate purposes.
