Toumaz Limited
Telran chip cleared for US and European distribution
Toumaz Limited (AIM: TMZ, 'Toumaz', or 'the Group'), a pioneer in low cost, ultra-low power wireless communications technology, announces that its Telran TZ1053TDK, Toumaz's flagship low voltage and low power communications microchip, has passed the FCC regulatory requirements of three international standards for radios. The FCC (Federal Communications Commission) is the regulatory authority for radio and telecommunications equipment in the USA.
This means that Toumaz will be able to deliver Telran to customers in the key US markets and in Europe through the CE approval.
The TZ1053TDK TELRAN uses Toumaz's AMxTM state-of-the-art ultra-low energy technology to deliver significantly longer life from single cell 1V battery-based systems for customers developing ultra-low energy applications.
Target applications include the development of two-way communication remote controls for consumer electronic devices, wireless sensor networks for environment monitoring and room temperature control, remote controls toys and games and smart metering.
The testing was carried out by an independent certified body, TUV Sud, and covers specified RF, safety, EMC and ESD measurements as defined in each standard.
Professor Chris Toumazou Toumaz CEO commented:
"This is an important development milestone for us. We are now able to provide both our US and European customers, in the rapidly growing home consumer wireless markets, with one of the most effective low power, short range communications chips."
