Telit Wireless Solutions, Inc., the US-based m2m mobile technologyarm of Telit Communications (AIM: TCM), today announced that itsGE863-QUAD module has been awarded PTCRB (PCS Type CertificationReview Board) certification. PTCRB certification is a regulatoryrequirement needed in order to sell GSM cellular communicationproducts in the North American market. This is Telit's fourth moduleto receive PTCRB certification in North America. £ The GE863-QUAD is a quad-band enabled module. Since it can be usedin the frequency ranges from 824 MHz to 1900 MHz, it can be usedanywhere in the world and is thus ideally suited for the Americanmarket. The module, which measures just 41.1 x 31.4 x 3.6 mm andweighs just 9 grams, is also extremely sturdy: it can withstandextreme temperatures from -30 degrees C to + 80 degrees C. TheGE863-QUAD is equipped with the unique Ball Grid Array (BGA) assemblyconcept. £ Telit Wireless Solutions, Inc. develops, produces and marketsGSM/GPRS modules and solutions for machine-to-machine (m2m)communication. The board-to-board BGAmounting is extremely stable and reliable.
