D1 Oils Plc08 April 2005 8 April, 2005 D1 Oils completes trial of D1 20 refinery and sells first bio diesel D1 Oils plc ("D1 Oils") today announces the successful completion of a rigorous24hr x 7 days continuous production trial of the latest version of its D1 20modular biodiesel refinery trans-esterification process. The refinery isdesigned to convert crude vegetable oil into biodiesel that meets Europeanquality standard EN14214. During the trial the D1 20 met performance specification, producing EN 14214compliant biodiesel which has been sold to a UK transportation company. The trial was witnessed and independently audited by Mott MacDonald, a globalpower engineering consultancy with a turnover in 2004 exceeding 600 millionEuros. The trial was conducted using rape seed oil. Jatropha oil will be processed bythe D1 20 as soon as sufficient quantity of raw feedstock is available and apre-processing unit designed to process a wider range of both food and non-foodgrade vegetable oils, currently under construction, is completed. This isanticipated to be in the second half of 2005. This trial is a significant milestone in establishing D1 Oils' proprietarycontinuous process technology in the field of biodiesel production.
