Telecom Egypt Announces Change to its Board of Directors
Cairo, 09 March 2011: Telecom Egypt (TE) (Ticker: ETEL.CA; TEEG.LN), today announced a change to its Board of Directors with immediate effect.
Ahmed Fathy El Kassass has retired from Telecom Egypt's Board of Directors. El Kassass was appointed to the Telecom Egypt board in 2007 and, over the course of his long military career, has held most of the senior positions in the Egyptian Signal Corps.
Mohamed Nabil El Maadawy Youssefhas been appointed to the Board with immediate effect. He was appointed Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Signal Corps on 01 January 2011. He holds a bachelor degree in Military Sciences from the Military Academy, Egypt in 1976.
Commenting on the news, Mr. Akil Beshir, Chairman of Telecom Egypt said:
"El Kassass has made an important contribution to the direction and governance of Telecom Egypt over the last four years. I speak on behalf of the rest of the Board in thanking him for his tireless efforts.
