Sweett Group supporting growing Middle East aviation market
Sweett Group, the international property and infrastructure consultancy, is delighted to announce that it has secured two recent commissions with Etihad Airways, the latest in a line of projects with the national airline of the United Arab Emirates. The Group's team of project and cost managers will be supporting the airline in the construction of a new crew briefing centre at Abu Dhabi Airport and in the extension of Etihad's training academy, including the installation of five new flight simulators.
Driven by significant public and private sector investment across the region, the Middle East aviation sector is expected to see continued strong levels of growth. Sweett Group's previous and on-going commissions in the region include the Muscat and Salalah international airports in Oman and a number of high priority specialist purpose-built facilities at Dubai International Airport to serve its on-going expansion and operation.
Dean Webster, Chief Executive Officer, said:
"I am pleased to see our global aviation experience being leveraged to serve new key clients such as Etihad Airways and Dubai Airports. Securing repeat commissions with our corporate clients is testament to our team's ability to combine exceptional levels of service with an understanding of the intricacies of local markets, a particularly important factor across the Middle East."
Sweett Group's aviation experience in the UK includes providing cost management services on various projects at Gatwick and Heathrow Airports, including the refurbishment of Terminals 2 and 3. The Group has also recently secured a commission to provide project and cost management services on a programme of investments and upgrades at St Mary's Airport on the Isles of Scilly.
In Hong Kong, the Group has over 30 years of experience in the aviation sector, first providing cost management services on various extensions to Kai Tak Airport before it was decommissioned in 1998 and, more recently, a number of major commissions at Hong Kong International Airport, including the HKD 500m (GBP 42m) Intermodal Transfer Terminal.
