Air Berlin selects Novo Ivc for

chip and pin onboard payment system

Belgravium Technologies plc ("Belgravium" or "the group") the designer and supplier of computing solutions and services for the mobile computing market is pleased to announce that Novo Ivc, its wholly owned subsidiary, has been selected by Air Berlin to install a complete on-board retail solution using their chip and pin Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) system for the entire fleet of aircraft.

The installation, which will become operational in November 2012, consists of 500 "PayPDA" devices, running the "SkyPOS" solution, accompanied by Novo's renowned support services. The "PayPDA" which forms the hardware platform for "SkyPOS" on this occasion is being supplied in partnership with chip and pin manufacturer Ingenico, a world leader in payment processing. The system will provide Air Berlin with the capability of instant management reporting, cash and stock reconciliation, flexible banking and wireless operation. The solution will also be the first to encompass a contactless payment module which will reduce transaction times dramatically and increase sales potential.
