TYRATECH, INC.
("TyraTech" or "the Company")
NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT and SUPPLY AGREEMENT SIGNED WITH TERMINIX
Seven-Year Agreement Includes Upfront Payment and Product Milestones
TyraTech, Inc. (AIM: TYR), a leader in the field of novel pesticide and parasiticide innovation for human, animal and environmental health is pleased to announce that it is extending its relationship with Terminix International ("Terminix"), the largest professional pest control company in the world, by signing a new product supply agreement (the "Agreement") to market, use and distribute certain TyraTech natural pest control products in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. This exclusive contract will extend until 2017.
Highlights
·; As part of the Agreement, TyraTech will receive a significant upfront payment and milestone payments as new products are developed and launched
·; The Agreement encompasses development, marketing and branding of TyraTech insecticide product lines in the U.S., Canada and Mexico
·; The Agreement is designed to continue successful marketing of lead products while developing additional products for commercialisation in key markets, including the professional, commercial, institutional, and residential markets
Following the initial exclusivity agreement signed with Terminix in November 2008, TyraTech demonstrated the value of its technology in a commercial setting and its strong relationship with Terminix with the successful launch in 2009 of Terminix SafeShield™ for the residential market and Terminix Natural Pest Control and Terminix Natural Drain Fly Killer being sold and distributed into institutional, commercial, and government markets. This was further illustrated with the recent announcement confirming a significant re-order for TyraTech of the Terminix SafeShield™ product.
Under this new Agreement, Terminix and TyraTech will work together to develop and market new and effective pest control products incorporating TyraTech's Nature's Technology™. The extended strategic relationship will enable a development plan designed to identify further branded natural products and market channels for commercialisation.
The new products will be launched under the Terminix brand. The products will be based on insect control that is effective and safe for people and pets when used as directed. The products should enable Terminix to go to market with differentiating services and products in residential, commercial, and government industry settings.
Commenting on the announcement, Alan Reade, Executive Chairman, said: "TyraTech continues to be committed to working with influential partners who share our vision of innovative approaches to meet the growing market demand for safer and more responsible control of domestic insects. Our extended relationship with Terminix is a strong endorsement of how these relationships can successfully work.
"As the largest insect control company in the world, Terminix has been an ideal partner for TyraTech with access to multiple marketing channels in the U.S. Furthermore, Terminix shares TyraTech's corporate vision to build new brands that are safe and effective. We are delighted with this new supply agreement, which accelerates our movement into the professional pest control marketplace with a strong partner that gives our products continued access to Terminix customers and other key channels and importantly provides us with significant financial returns, immediately and over the duration of the contract through milestone payments.
"In summary the signing of the new seven year agreement is a material step in the commercialisation of TyraTech's technologies and will significantly enhance the financial position of the Company both in the near term and into the future as new products are commercialised."
Also commenting on the Agreement, Thomas G. Brackett, Terminix President and Chief Operating Officer, said:"This enhanced strategic relationship with TyraTech will open the door for us to market a broader base of innovative eco-conscious products that are only available from Terminix. The alliance gives us access to TyraTech's advanced technology needed for products that meet the growing demand for powerful, environmentally focused pest solutions. Customers have responded well to our current environmentally responsible product line. We've distributed nearly 500,000 units of our eco-conscious products so far, and our alliance means that more new offerings will be available soon."

About TyraTech
TyraTech was formed in 2004 to develop and commercialise products for the control of invertebrate pests and pathogens using the Company's proprietary technology. TyraTech, which already has products on the market, is positioned for human health, animal health and pesticide market opportunities which total over $32 billion globally. TyraTech's technology provides the Company with a wide variety of product and business opportunities in many markets and geographic regions. The differentiating feature of these products is the potential to have a combined level of potency and safety that other invertebrate control products are unable to offer. TyraTech's platform brings many of the principles of drug discovery and development to the fields of insecticides and parasiticides. By targeting specific chemoreceptors that are found in invertebrates but not in humans and animals, TyraTech can produce products that use natural plant derived compounds targeting these receptors.
TyraTech discovers and develops proprietary active ingredients which can then be used for various products across a wide variety of market segments, either by development partners or by TyraTech itself. TyraTech already has products or partnerships in the areas of professional and horticultural insect control, and for an insect/mosquito repellent. TyraTech also has an innovative partnership with Kraft to use its natural oils to develop functional foods for improving the health of the more than 2 billion people worldwide subject to intestinal parasitic infections.
