HSBC Holdings PLC04 September 2006 HSBC HOLDINGS PLC SUBSIDIARY BOARD APPOINTMENTS Stuart Gulliver (47), Head of HSBC's Corporate, Investment Banking and Marketsand Group Investment Businesses, has been appointed an executive Director ofHSBC Bank plc, of HSBC USA Inc and of HSBC Bank USA, N.A. with effect from 1September 2006. He has also been appointed an executive Director of The Hongkongand Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, subject to regulatory approval. Mr Gulliver, who has been a Group Managing Director of HSBC Holdings plc since2004, joined HSBC in 1980. He was appointed a Group General Manager in 2000 andwas Head of Treasury and Capital Markets in Asia-Pacific from 1996 to 2002, Headof Global Markets from 2002 to 2003 and Co-Head of Corporate, Investment Bankingand Markets from 2003 to May 2006.
