PuriCore (LSE: PURI), the life sciences company focused on thedevelopment and commercialization of its novel, safe antimicrobialtechnology, announced that results of a university study comparing itsendodontic cleanser, Aquatine EC (hypochlorous acid), to bleach(sodium hypochlorite) for root canal disinfecting and cleansing werepresented at the American Association of Endodontists annualconference in Philadelphia, PA. The researchers found that theAquatine EC endodontic cleanser was extremely effective atdisinfecting tooth root canals contaminated with bacteria(Enterococcus faecalis) when compared to bleach, the gold standard forendodontic disinfection. Furthermore, when used in combination withEDTA, Aquatine EC was also highly effective at removing the smearlayer.
