General Dynamics awards Stryker contract to Meggitt
General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) has awarded a $11.5m contract for eighty automatic 105mm ammunition Replenisher systems for the M1128 Stryker Mobile Gun System (MGS) to Meggitt Defense Systems, Inc (MDSI). The two year delivery programme will commence in 2009.
The Stryker MGS Replenisher holds ten 105mm rounds in the hull of the vehicle and automatically transfers ammunition into the ready magazine in the turret.
MDSI developed the Stryker MGS Replenisher under contract from GDLS and has delivered over 100 systems, including spares, support, and reset since 2004. The system has seen extensive combat duty in Iraq since its deployment in 2006.
