Platform Housing Group Publishes Sustainable Finance Framework
Platform Housing Group, the largest housing association in the Midlands, has published its Sustainable Finance Framework (the "framework"), which is available on the Investor Centre section of its website (https://www.platformhg.com/our-reports-and-publications-).
The framework aligns to the social, green and sustainability principles and guidelines set out by the International Capital Markets Association and Loan Market Association. DNV GL Business Assurance Services UK Limited have provided a Second Party Opinion, which is also available on the Investor Centre section of the Platform website (https://www.platformhg.com/our-reports-and-publications-).
Elizabeth Froude, Chief Executive at Platform Housing Group said: "We are incredibly pleased to have published our framework. The framework will formally link our funding to the excellent projects we invest in, which help to make significant social and environmental improvements to the communities in which we operate. We hope to use the framework together with our £1 billion EMTN programme to engage with the capital markets in the near future, as we push ahead with our ambitious development and de-carbonisation strategies."
Platform worked in collaboration with Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets to finalise the framework. Kirsty Garrett, Director at Lloyds Corporate DCM said: "'The Lloyds team was delighted to support Platform in creating its Sustainable Finance Framework. Sustainability is at the heart of Platform's corporate strategy and the Framework publicises this, enabling the Group to explicitly link its future financing to specific green and social projects".
Platform Housing Group, which owns over 46,000 homes, completed 909 homes in 2020/21 (1,448 in 2019/20), investing £198m (£208m in 2019/20). The Group has an ambition to bring all of its homes up to an EPC rating of C or better by 2028.
