Strategic partnerships for Akazoo
InternetQ agrees strategic partnership with Samsung Electronics, a major Eastern European Mobile Network Operator and a top Eastern European broadband service provider for Akazoo.
InternetQ PLC, (LSE: INTQ) one of the leading providers of mobile marketing and digital entertainment solutions for mobile network operators and brands, today announces a strategic partnership with Samsung Electronics as well as headline agreements with a major Eastern European Mobile Network Operator ("MNO") and top Eastern European Internet service provider ("ISP"), for its industry-leading social music streaming service, Akazoo.
Akazoo features one of the industry's leading streaming platforms, enabling consumers to enjoy the benefits of unlimited and unconstrained access to a music catalogue of more than 15 million tracks, from both major and local labels.
The strategic partnership with Samsung will offer an enhanced mobile app and tablet experience of Akazoo for users of Samsung's Android devices. Akazoo for Samsung mobile devices will be showcased at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona; it will pilot initially in Greece, and extend to other territories within 2013.
In addition to the agreement with Samsung, InternetQ will launch Akazoo "bundled in" with data plans of a major Eastern European MNO and as an add-on service for broadband and Video On-Demand subscribers of a leading Eastern European ISP. These agreements will help accelerate Akazoo's monetization strategy, enhancing the Akazoo platform with expert digital and mobile marketing expertise to help drive loyalty for blue-chip brands such as MNOs, device manufacturers, and ISPs. Details of the service launch will follow later this year, and are expected to substantially expand Akazoo's direct market reach.
Panagiotis Dimitropoulos, Chief Executive Officer of InternetQ commented:
"Today's announcements demonstrate the importance of our music streaming service, Akazoo, and the need to continue to evolve our business to meet the changing needs of the mobile market.
InternetQ has developed Akazoo to become uniquely specialised in its commercial sophistication and we are delighted to welcome these new strategic partners to our business. We believe today's announcement is a significant step in turning Akazoo into a leading music streaming service internationally."
