Compass Group PLC26 March 2007 12:00 hrs - Monday 26th March 2007 "Last month our Portuguese business, Eurest (Portugal) Sociedade EuropeiaRestaurantes LDA, was visited by the Portuguese Competition Authority (PCA) aspart of an investigation into possible past breaches of competition law by ourPortuguese business and other caterers in the sector. The PCA investigationrelates to a part of our Portuguese catering business which services mainlypublic sector contracts. We are cooperating fully with the PCA's ongoinginvestigation and the Board believes that any financial impact of the mattersunder investigation in Portugal will not be material to the Group. Portugueseturnover for the year ended 30 September 2006 was £90 million (132 millioneuros). It is likely that the investigation will take several months to completeand we do not intend to make any further comment until the outcome of theinvestigation is known."
