StatoilHydro selects Logica to provide cross-functional Service Desk
StatoilHydro ASA and Logica Norge AS have signed a contract under which Logica will provide a cross-functional Service Desk to support global Shared Services. Logica will support StatoilHydro employees requiring information about processes and policies within Human Resources, Facility Management, Finance, Procurement and Corporate Communications. In addition, Logica will deliver global IT support to StatoilHydro business units 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The introduction of a single cross-functional service desk with a unified set of tools and processes on such a scale, places StatoilHydro on the leading edge of global service delivery.
Logica is a global leader in IT and business services with approximately 700 employees in Norway, and 40,000 worldwide. Logica has delivered IT service desk services to Statoil, and later StatoilHydro, since 2003.
"StatoilHydro is in the middle of an important internationalisation process. Logica has shown flexibility and done an excellent job in developing their services in the present contract with us. Their approach to the new contract convinced us of their will and ability to enable us to provide World Class services to our business units worldwide" says Rune Aase, Head of Service Delivery with StatoilHydro Global Business Services, the company's shared services unit.
Logica's service desk team will enable StatoilHydro to achieve their goal of World Class service delivery. Logica is committed to continual quality improvements and ongoing cost reductions with the new service desk contract, and will deliver this by focussing on Knowledge Management, automated services and leveraging Logica's Blended Delivery Model, with Stavanger, Norway, and Bridgend, Wales, as the primary delivery locations.
"StatoilHydro takes a unique approach to shared services support, with a clear goal of world class service delivery. We are excited to be able to continue the journey that began five years ago, further developing a service that will continue to support StatoilHydro's international growth ambitions," says CEO of Logica Norway, Tor Malmo.
The contract takes effect during the second quarter of 2009. It has a duration of 5 years with optional prolongation of up to 3 years and engages more than 100 Logica employees.
